Sustainalize further expanded with two experienced consultants

CSR consultancy firm Sustainalize continues to grow and has employed two experienced consultants: Desirée Beeren as senior consultant and Anne-Marie Slaa as consultant. With the earlier expansions this year, the agency has doubled in size in one year to more than 20 consultants.

Desirée Beeren

Desirée focuses on formulating and tightening sustainability strategies. She specializes in how you can measure those successes and how best to report on them. Desirée focuses in particular on the impact made in the supply chain and how to involve your suppliers in realizing your sustainability objectives.

She worked for PwC for 6,5 years, including 2 years in Signapore. Desirée’s activities typically included leading stakeholder engagement workshops, strategy development, KPI setting, assurance and the writing of sustainability reports. In addition, she was lead auditor for an international retail company for which she conducted supplier audits. As a true all-rounder, Desirée has gained experience in a wide range of sectors, such as financial services, the construction industry, telephony, semiconductors and food & retail. For PwC she gained three years of work experience at non-profit organizations; she worked at IUCN NL, FairTrade Original and Oxfam.

Desiree studied International Business and Languages ​​and holds an MSc in International Management and Development Studies. She also has a post graduate certificate in Environmental Management.

Anne-Marie Slaa

Anne-Marie likes to challenge companies to set ambitious goals. She knows how to connect the daily reality of the customer with social trends. Based on this, Anne-Marie helps companies identify sustainable business cases, set ambitions and get started. In addition to strategy advice, Anne-Marie will focus on impact measurement & value creation and reporting at Sustainalize.

Anne-Marie worked for 3 years at MVO Nederland as project manager and researcher. From her role as head of the CSR Information Point, she guided many companies on CSR related issues. Measuring impact, sustainable supply chain management, CSR in the agri-food sector and transparency were some of the topics in which she has specialized. After MVO Nederland, Anne-Marie worked for a year in the agrifood sector at the international network organization AgriProFocus. As account manager for several large agrifood companies she worked on inclusiveness and sustainability within the agrifood sectors in emerging markets.

Anne-Marie has a background in International Relations (BA) and Critical Global Politics (MA). During her master’s degree in England, from which she graduated cum laude, she wrote her thesis on the monetization of natural capital.
